Macatawa Bank Hosts Holiday Food Drive through Dec. 7

Macatawa Bank is holding Fill-a-Plate Holiday Food Drive from now through Dec. 7. Like the Bank's Facebook Page and $1 Will Be Donated to a West Michigan Food Bank.

2012-11-15
HOLLAND, MI, November 15, 2012 (Press-News.org) Macatawa Bank is holding Fill-a-Plate Holiday Food Drive from now through Dec. 7.

The Holland-based community bank has created a friendly competition between its 26 branches in Kent, Ottawa and Northern Allegan counties, along with its corporate headquarters, to see who can raise the most non-perishable food items for a food pantry or other non-profit of their choice. Customers are encouraged to bring in canned goods, pasta, rice, beans, peanut butter and other non-perishables to support their favorite branch.

"Macatawa Bank has always been committed to giving back to the community," said Chris Bart, vice president of marketing at Macatawa Bank. "We know our local food pantries have incredible need throughout the year, but especially around the holidays. By introducing the element of friendly competition into our food drive, we hope to have a little fun while raising much-needed food supplies to benefit those less fortunate."

Each of the three floors of the corporate headquarters, along with each branch, has selected a local charity to receive their food donations. These include SECOM (South End Community Outreach Ministries), Holland Rescue Mission and Streams of Hope, along with dozens of others in West Michigan. Once totals are tallied, winners will be selected for the Lakeshore and Grand Rapids regions, as well as a floor winner at the corporate headquarters, and employees at each branch or floor will be treated to lunch.

Additionally, the bank will donate $1 to a local food bank for each new "like" on its Facebook page (facebook.com/MacatawaBank) from now through Dec. 7.
