#goodjobtexasjr Brings Extra #girlpower To The Rose Theatre Company

"#youngandfresh" Gets New Name And New Location As Celebration of Female Artists Begins

SAN ANTONIO, TX, November 15, 2012

In the summer of 2012, the social multi-media platform #goodjobtexas launched a showcase for young musicians. Now, #goodjobtexasjr is putting young people in a larger spotlight, on a larger stage.

Beginning in November, the series formerly known as "#youngandfresh" has taken on a new name - "#goodjobtexasjr, with Nikki Young & Friends" - as it moves to The Rose Theatre Company (11838 Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, TX 78230) for three shows celebrating young women in music. The celebration - dubbed #girlpower - began on November 8, with performances by Dara Niemi, a 14-year-old gymnast turned singer-songwriter; and Marisa Flores, a 17-year-old singer, songwriter, and ukelele player.

Other performers confirmed for the month include:

* Celeste'al Descent, an alternative rock band from San Antonio;

* Aubrey Crow, a singer, actress, and rising YouTube star who has recently caught the attention of Disney;

* Rachel Laven, a singer-songwriter since age 10, both as a solo artist and as a member of one of San Antonio's most popular family bands, The Lavens; and

* Ashlee Rose, a San Antonio favorite who has performed around the world, returning home to celebrate the release of her latest CD, "Songs In A Suitcase".

Explaining the name change, Nikki Young, Executive Producer and host of "#goodjobtexasjr," says, "Since we started the show, we've seen it grow so far beyond our expectations. Now, the entire network is growing. #goodjobtexasjr is going 24/7 with original content spotlighting all sectors of the community. And so we've retooled and retitled the show to represent all the content we're offering. It's still a showcase for young artists, and now it's also a showcase for our network as well." Brandon Faucett, the network's founder and the show's Director, adds, "#goodjobtexasjr (the network) works like a social-media 'search engine' for Texas musicians. So '#goodjobtexasjr' (the show) is a great way to introduce people to what they'll find there."

For Jessie Rose, the theater's owner, the new location is a perfect fit for the show's celebration of #girlpower. "I've been very impressed with #goodjobtexasjr's support of young female artists," she says. "It's a commitment we share at The Rose Theatre Company. And we're thrilled to be working with everyone on their team to help bring their shows to a larger audience." "It's great for us," Young continues, "because we have more space to accommodate our studio audience. And more space means more fans, more prizes, and more fun - for moms, daughters, and the whole family!"

Select audience members will be able to see the series live for free, as #goodjobtexasjr will make a limited number of tickets available. To reserve seats, please call or text #goodjobtexasjr at 210.549.8356.

(The series will also be broadcast on the network's website, http://www.goodjobtexasjr.com.)
