PEMBERTON, NJ, November 19, 2012 (Press-News.org) Robert Egby's summer publication "Holy Dirt, Sacred Earth: A Dowser's Journey in New Mexico" has been honored as "Finalist" in the New Age Non-fiction Category in the National USA Best Books 2012 Awards.
The award was announced today by USA Book News, the premiere online magazine and review website for mainstream and independent publishing houses.
Jeffrey Keen, President and CEO of USA Book News, said this year's contest yielded over 1500 entries from mainstream and independent publishers, which were then narrowed down to over 400 winners and finalists.
Author and dowser Robert Egby studied the special earth energies that exist in the Rio Grande Valley of northern New Mexico, particularly in places once occupied or still occupied by Indian Ancestors. Over periods spanning several years he found geospirals radiating healing energies in Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Bandelier, Chimayo, Taos, Arroyo Seco, the Earthship Community and the 1,000 year-old Taos Pueblo, keepers of the famous Blue Lake.
Egby says although there appears to be a concentration of geospirals and vortexes in New Mexico, he has, since writing the book discovered geospirals in northern New York State and also in New Jersey. "The key is to look for places originally inhabited by Indians who knew the Earth and its energies long before Europeans. A number of prominent churches and cathedrals have been built over geospirals, but there again we have found sets of active geospirals tucked away in isolated meadows."
Since publication of the book earlier this year, Egby has made power point presentations to dowsers in Canada, a group in upstate New York, to the Los Lunas Dowsers and spiritual groups in Taos, New Mexico.
While at Los Lunas, south of Albuquerque, Egby participated in a field trip with the Willow Bender dowsers. When they found a large rock positioned over the center of a 21-ring geospiral, they rested on it and nobody want to leave it. "Geospirals have a magnetic quality and impart healing and rejuvenating yin energies," he says and describes the publication as a "Special Book for people interested in Earth Energy, Healing, Divining, Travel and History or simply staying home as an Armchair Tourist."
This is the third time that his books have won "Finalist" awards with USA Best Books. The other two books are "The Quest of the Radical Spiritualist" and "INSIGHTS: The Healing Paths of the Radical Spiritualist."
Robert Egby who lives in Chaumont, NY and Pemberton, NJ is one of a growing number of Independent Publishers. His business Three Mile Point Publishing is a member of the IBPA - Independent Book Publishers Association, and SPAN, the Small Publishers of North America.
Details of his books can be found at www.threemilepointpublishing.com, Amazon outlets world-wide, Kindle, and at many good bookshops. Holy Dirt, Sacred Earth is also on the shelves of the American Society of Dowsers at www.dowsers.org. The full awards can be viewed at www.usabooknews.com.
