Qatar Building Company (QBC) is a Gold Sponsor of 2012 "Engineers Day" Celebration held by the Institution of Engineers (India) Qatar Chapter

DOHA, QATAR, November 20, 2012 (Press-News.org) Qatar Building Company (QBC) showed its continued support for sustainable engineering and environmental stewardship by sponsoring the 45th Engineers Day held by the Qatar Chapter of the Institution of Engineers (IEI) India. The grand event, themed "Appropriate Climate," was held at the Sheraton Doha Hotel, and was attended by more than 300 members.

The celebration hosted a remarkable group of speakers, including high-profile staff of the Indian embassy, a 2007 Nobel Peace Prize recipient who is in the Prime Minister's Council on Climate Change - India, the CEO of Doha Bank, and the Chairman of Qatar Society of Engineers, Mr. Ahmed Jassim Al-Jolo.

QBC's sponsorship is in line with the environment pillar of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Presentation topics focused on innovation in sustainable development and ways to encourage both the public and private sectors to use technology to mitigate climate change.

As mentioned during the celebration, IEI may be one of the largest professional bodies in the world. "QBC staff surpasses 5,000 employees, a significant portion of whom are Indian; as such, we would like to show our support for the Indian fraternity in Qatar, and their many efforts to the country's engineering community," commented Mr. Brian Kabbani, HR Section Head.

This year, QBC has also been a Gold Sponsor of the 2012 INTERCEM Doha Conference, the 10th Gulf Water Conference, and the "Seeing is Believing" Golf Tournament Fundraiser with Standard Chartered Bank.
