DANVILLE, CA, November 27, 2012 (Press-News.org) Boutique vintner Damian Rae Winery today announced that its 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded 4-stars by the highly respected Wine Tasting Institute . "We are honored to receive the Wine Tasting Institute's praise," said John Tarabini, president, adding that "it confirms what our customers are saying: 'this is a terrific wine.'"
Barrel-aged in 50% new oak, the Damian Rae 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a sumptuous hand-crafted, balanced vintage made from fruit from four of Napa Valley's finest vineyards: Coombsville (Coombsville), Godspeed (Mount Veeder), Ink Grade (Howell Mountain), and Rafael (Oak Knoll). The wine was meticulously blended with six percent Malbec and three percent Cab Franc to provide amazing aromatics and lushness.
The Wine Tasting Institute described the Damian Rae 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon as follows: "This is a Napa Valley Cabernet all the way. Velvety fruit upfront followed by structured tannins. Seems to hit the palette in three different stages. Definitely a steak wine. Will age in the cellar nicely."
The Damian Rae 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is delicious now with steaks, prime rib, and stews, but cellaring this vintage wine will make it even more spectacular upon maturity. This magnificent wine is value-priced at $59 and available by contacting winery@damianrae.com
