PARIS, FRANCE, October 15, 2010 (Press-News.org) The artistic creations of Henry Moore will be the focus of a new exhibition entitled Sculptures and Drawings, which is being presented at the Musee Rodin in Paris.
A huge collection of Moore's work will be on display at the arts space, with the venue claiming it has been more than 30 years since the French capital has hosted a retrospective of his creations.
Guests at Paris hotels will be able to view a huge selection of pieces by the artist between October 15th 2010 and February 27th 2011, including three sketchbooks and 50 drawings.
As well as this, there will be more than 150 sculptures, two "outdoor monumental works" and several other unusual creations by the celebrated artist, according to the venue.
"The exhibition follows Moore's career from 1930 until the beginning of the 1980s. It includes an exploration of dialogues between sculptor and found object," a representative from the institution explained.
Many art enthusiasts may be aware of his more famous works, but what makes this exhibition a real treat is being able to view preparatory sketches of such items, in addition to the finished articles.
The building is open from 10:00 to 17:45 local time every day except Monday, when it is closed.
Moore, who died in 1986, put much of the money he earned in later life into developing the Henry Moore Foundation.
Admission to view the Sculptures and Drawings exhibition and the permanent collection costs EUR10 (GBP8.75).
For more information on this event visit the Musee Rodin website or contact the venue on +33 (0) 1 44 18 61 10.
