Innovate@Carolina Unveils New Website www.innovate.unc.edu

The Chancellor's Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UNC-CH has created a new website with information about the many programs UNC offers to support innovation and entrepreneurship.

2012-11-28
CHAPEL HILL, NC, November 28, 2012 (Press-News.org) The Chancellor's Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has created a new website that provides a rich resource for information about the many programs UNC offers to support innovation and entrepreneurship.

The website, located at http://www.innovate.unc.edu, includes details about the Innovate@Carolina initiative, its strategy and key contacts. It also features updates on the Innovate@Carolina Roadmap, UNC's strategic plan for accelerating the number of solutions to the world's most pressing problems, as well as links to many UNC programs relating to innovation and entrepreneurship.

"The Chancellor's Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship works to strengthen UNC's entrepreneurship ecosystem to meet the needs of faculty, students, staff, and community members as they translate their novel ideas into practical benefit and change the world," says Judith Cone, Special Assistant to the Chancellor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UNC. "To have impact requires people to be connected to communities, recognize needs, turn needs into opportunities, have the passion to persevere, and work hard to implement their ideas. Our new website will be a valuable tool in this process."

Launched November 9, the site was designed and built by Rivers Agency, a Chapel Hill-based advertising agency and web design studio. The site features a clean design and easy navigation that encourages exploration.

The homepage allows visitors to stay up-to-date on upcoming events, social media feeds and mentions in the press. It also highlights the latest news on how Innovate@Carolina is helping to shape groundbreaking discoveries, on campus and around the world. A blog will be added to the site in the coming weeks.

The "Get Involved" section allows visitors to browse an interactive directory of programs and social groups to find out how to get involved. The directory features search and filter tools to narrow down results and match user's interest to resources. The directory will continue to expand as more resources are added.

"We couldn't be more excited about the fresh look and feel of the new website," said Michelle Bolas, Strategy and Communications Consultant for Innovate@Carolina. "We really wanted to make a push to create a brand that would be recognized on campus and in the community. With improved navigation and an appealing presentation to highlight the abundance of helpful information, we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome."

For more information about Innovate@Carolina or the website, contact Michelle Bolas at michellebolas@gmail.com or (919) 225-2607.
