JACKSONVILLE, NC, December 01, 2012 (Press-News.org) Don Mills, president of SIA Group (http://www.siagroup.net), a full-service insurance agency with nine offices throughout North Carolina and in Blacksburg, Va., has announced that the firm has purchased the business and agricultural/equine divisions of Triangle Insurance Group, based in Clayton and Smithfield, N.C. President Jim Nappier Jr., CIC, CBIA, and Vice President Earl Johnson will transfer from Triangle Insurance to SIA Group and play an active role in management as well as maintaining their books of business and helping SIA Group expand its existing presence in these industries and in central North Carolina, where it has offices in Raleigh.
The commercial division represents a wide array of national and regional insurance companies that allow access markets for various types of coverage, including workers compensation, general liability, commercial umbrella, property, business auto, contractors' equipment and builders' risk. The clients it insures include business owners, contractors, the service industry, physician groups, manufacturers, nonprofits and social services. Its operations will remain based in Triangle Insurance Group's office in Clayton, N.C.
Based in Smithfield, N.C., Triangle Insurance Group's agricultural/equine division encompasses local independent agents across five states in the Southeast who offer a variety of agricultural insurance products, including crop-hail insurance and multiple peril crop insurance. Allen Dickerson, manager of the agricultural division at Triangle Insurance Group, will continue to head this division with the same support team that was in place under Triangle Insurance Group. Graham Neville will continue to work in a consulting capacity with the Agriculture/Equine Division.
Established in 2000 by a merger of Graham Neville Insurance and Johnson Nappier Insurance, Triangle Insurance Group held its primary objective to deliver quality insurance at competitive prices to its clients, while maintaining a high standard of service to each of their clients and establishing a firm relationship of mutual trust. The two divisions have twelve full time employees.
The addition of Triangle Insurance Group marks the third expansion of SIA Group this year. Previously, the firm added operations into two markets - Asheville, N.C., with agent Deepak Poplai, who has 24 years of industry experience and specializes in hospitality insurance, and Blacksburg, Va., led by Wallace ("Wally") J. Nelson Jr., with 24 years of experience specializing in health care, defense contracting and manufacturing insurance.
QUOTES:
"We are excited to welcome Jim, Earl and all the other employees of Triangle Insurance Group's business and agricultural/equine divisions join us as the latest addition to SIA," said Mills. "This acquisition is an excellent fit for all parties involved, as we share the same business philosophy of finding the best coverage for our clients, and the merger will provide us the opportunity to strengthen our presence in central North Carolina. We eagerly look forward to serving Triangle's clients and adding a talented roster of agents to our team."
