Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays Provide School District with Highest Wi-Fi Performance Possible as They Build Out Their Learning Initiatives

2010-10-15
THOUSAND OAKS, CA, October 15, 2010 (Press-News.org) Xirrus , the only Wi-Fi Power Play in the industry, announced today the deployment of Xirrus high performance Wi-Fi Arrays throughout the Schleicher County Independent School District, located in Eldorado Texas. As part of the Region 15 Service Center, Schleicher County ISD educates nearly 600 students across its three campuses, encompassing an elementary, middle, and high school facility. Moving toward a solid and reliable online learning environment was a goal for Schleicher County ISD and, by selecting the Xirrus architecture, they now have the reliable performance needed to support their wireless learning initiatives.

"We upgraded to Xirrus from our legacy wireless network, which was unmanaged and unreliable," said J.D. Boyle, Technology Director for Schleicher County ISD. "Xirrus was the only wireless provider that would guarantee the coverage - the other vendors were only guessing as to the number of devices needed. We wanted a solution we could rely on for a constant connection and not have to add devices as our wireless initiative grows.

"We needed to invest in a solid solution that was easy to manage and required very little IT time and support," continued J.D. "Several other districts in my region have had a lot of success with their 1:1 initiatives using Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays. I was a little concerned, but now that we have all the students back from summer vacation - everything has gone off without a hitch and all the laptops are working flawlessly!"

Due to the reliable connections and superior user density offered by the Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays, Schleicher County ISD is planning to add even more laptops and wireless devices within the next year.

"I am confident the Xirrus network can robustly handle the capacity needed for those additions," concluded J.D. "Our department has enough to worry about and deploying Xirrus has eliminated one last item of concern. We don't even have to touch the Arrays; you throw one up, turn it on, and forget about it - it's that simple and that reliable."
