'Book'd in Burbank' Adds New Chapter to L.A. Lit Scene

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 05, 2012 (Press-News.org) Liz D Publicity & Promotions breathes new life into the Los Angeles literary scene with Book'd in Burbank. Sponsored and organized by Liz D, Book'd in Burbank is a bookish social gathering that treats book lovers to an evening of author readings and literary entertainment. Young Adult (YA), Mystery, and Romance author readings, stand-up literary comedy, books giveaway, raffle, dessert & mingling reception, and children's book drive to benefit Reading Partners, a youth literacy non-profit, round out the evening's itinerary. The inaugural event is scheduled for January 10, 2013 from 8:00 P.M - 9:30 P.M at Theatre Banshee in the Magnolia Park section of Burbank.

"Book'd in Burbank is an extraordinary literary experience that challenges the age-old, formal author reading," says Liz Donatelli, Liz D Publicity & Promotion PR Director. Donatelli believes that most book events fail to appeal to an avid reader's sense of fun. She adds, "Book'd is born of the notion that bibliophiles enjoy social interaction and partying just as much as they enjoy curling up with a good book."

Los Angeles-based novelists Suzanne Lazear (YA fairytale steampunk), Amy Spalding (YA contemporary), Kaitlin O'Riley (historical romance), Rebekah Weatherspoon (paranormal lesbian romance), Cash Peters (humorous mystery/thriller), and Diane Vallere (chick lit mystery) comprise Book'd in Burbank's authors panel.

Raffle prizes are provided by Upbound Books, an artisan shop that "upcycles" damaged books into practical items, Esparto Studio, a boutique specializing in wearable art crafted from recycled book pages, and Shelf Pleasure, a destination website for women who love to read and share their literary finds.
