Rare Patek Philippe Watch Acquired by ALG in San Diego
2012-12-06
SAN DIEGO, CA, December 06, 2012 (Press-News.org) Authentic Luxury Goods has announced the acquisition of an extremely fine and rare Patek Philippe astronomic wristwatch. The Patek Philippe now on sale at ALG's online luxury boutique is an 18k gold Perpetual Calendar Minute Repeater (Reference 3974), one of the Swiss watch brand's most coveted models.

"This Patek Philippe timepiece is truly a work of art," says Carl Blackburn, owner of Authentic Luxury Goods in San Diego. "It is the type of collectable timepiece usually found for sale only at special watch events held by auction houses like Antiquorum or Sotheby's."

ALG's acquisition of this type of highly collectable timepiece can be attributed to the company's reputation as a premier luxury brokerage service and its international reach. "Our clients include many of the same wealthy collectors who bid at auctions of fabulous jewels, timepieces, and objets d'art," says Blackburn. "By selling luxury estate items with ALG versus selling an item at auction, the seller can get payment for their item quicker, and likewise the buyer can obtain the item faster."

Blackburn explains that ordinary consignment stores don't have the experience, financial resources, or clientele to deal in diamonds, fine jewelry, and rare timepieces with six figure appraisal values. However, Authentic Luxury Goods specializes in such items. Their position as a trusted luxury asset broker is thanks to over two decades of professional estate buying experience.

The authentic Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Minute Repeater that ALG currently has on sale was produced in 1992. It features a Patek Philippe self-winding Caliber movement, with a 3 o'clock display for the month and a leap year cycle. The subdial at 6 o'clock displays the moon phase. The 36mm diameter case back of this Patek Philippe astronomic watch is polished 18K gold and 12mm thick. A sapphire crystal appears on both the front and back. The dial is solid gold with silver color and includes applied gold stick markers and dauphine hands. It is accompanied by the original Patek Philippe mahogany fitted box, Certificate of Origin, and setting pin.

"All the luxury items which Authentic Luxury Goods sells are in gently used condition, and this extraordinary Patek Philippe watch is no different," says Blackburn. "There are only some minor surface scratches resulting from delicate use. The crystal window shows no visible scratches and the wristband has been well taken care of with no major scratches." This Patek Philippe watch collector's item has also been professionally cleaned and polished.
