ATLANTA, GA, August 21, 2010 (Press-News.org) David Nour, author of Relationship Economics and CEO of The Nour Group, Inc., has been selected to present at the Oregon Association of Nurseries' 2010 Farwest Show Manager's Circle. The annual Farwest Show is being held August 26-28 in Portland, Oregon and is one of the leading nursery and greenhouse industry trade shows in the United States.
The Farwest Show features a keynote and town hall discussion led by David Nour, 40-hours of continuing education and over 600 exhibitors for industry professionals. The Show is designed to expose attendees to the latest in the nursery and garden center industry.
"We're happy to partner with David again for the 2010 Farwest Show," says Allan Niemi, Interim Executive Director. "He presented Relationship Economics at our Annual Convention last September to a delighted audience, and I'm confident that his insights on Adaptive Innovation will be particularly valuable for the Farwest Manager's Circle in Portland later this month."
"I'm thrilled to be invited back to speak to this exciting group of nursery professionals," Nour adds. "Especially now, since there is an increasing sense of urgency in the industry to create a sustainable competitive advantage. Companies must develop a relationship-centric culture with the courage to fail and learn from those failures. Adaptive Innovation is exactly how this competitive advantage can be realized."
Nour will discuss how the key to delivering value in today's rapidly changing market is innovation, driven by leaders who build high-performing teams focused on what's feasible now and what's possible for the future. Those in attendance will benefit by gaining a deeper understanding of true innovation, identifying and building 'disruptive' business models, as well as learn how to maximize their investments in innovation.
About The Oregon Association of Nurseries and The Farwest Show
The Oregon Association of Nurseries (OAN) was established in 1933 to represent the state's growers, landscapers, retailers, suppliers and anyone with an interest in the green industry. What started with a handful of nurserymen who shared a common vocation has blossomed into a strong, dynamic organization with more than 1,300 members. The OAN provides marketing services, government advocacy, continuing education, networking opportunities and more to its membership. Oregon ranks as the second largest nursery state in the country and the largest exporter of nursery stock. In terms of gross value of sales, Oregon stands at 18 percent of the entire U.S. market.
The Farwest Show is produced by the OAN as one of the leading nursery and greenhouse industry trade shows in the United States. It attracts an average of 10,000 attendees each year from virtually every state and over a dozen foreign countries. Some 69 percent of attendees are owners, managers or buyers; 37 percent are from retail garden centers and 30 percent are growers. Over 50 percent of exhibiting companies are wholesale nurseries at the Farwest Show - more green goods exhibitors than any other show in North America.
