TAMPA, FL, December 12, 2012

The Northeast Tampa Women in Business (NETWIB) will provide 18 farm workers' children with dinner and Christmas gifts on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012. The event will be held at the Hunter's Green Country Club, 18101 Longwater Run Drive, at 6 p.m.

NETWIB is partnering with the Farmworkers Self Help (FSH) organization to sponsor the Las Mariposas Dance Troupe, a group of middle and high school daughters of migrant farm workers, and give them a memorable Christmas. NETWIB's goal is to get the young women in these families to see the wealth of opportunities in the world by placing them in front of professional businesswomen.

"We think it's important to expose these young girls to professional women from the Tampa Bay area," said FocalPoint Business Coach and NETWIB Membership Chair, Dulcee Loehn. "The young ladies have built up so much confidence as a part of this dance troupe. We want to ensure they continue developing that confidence throughout their high school and young adult careers."

FSH is designed to help migrant Mexican farmworker families, or those who previously worked in the fields. The families live throughout East Pasco County, but primarily in the Dade City area. FSH assists with food, housing, immigration, education, health care, language and more. All FSH children come from poverty stricken backgrounds.
