HOUSTON, TX, December 17, 2012 (Press-News.org) Attorney Daniel D. Horowitz III, a partner at Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend in Houston, Texas, was presented with the 2012 Reich Chandler Outstanding Advocate Award by the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Mr. Horowitz was selected as the 2012 recipient of the Reich Chandler Outstanding Advocate Award for his commitment to ethics and professionalism in the practice of law and his untiring devotion to the rights of his clients. The award is named in honor of Reich Chandler, former Advocates Committee Chair and Secretary Treasurer of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, who set the standard for excellence for all Texas Advocates.
Reich Chandler was a father, a husband, an outstanding tennis player and a dedicated lawyer before he lost his battle with cancer in 2006. This award is given annually in his memory to the Advocate who has continued to follow Chandler's example, striving in all aspects of his or her life toward:
- Living a balanced life, one that puts family first and foremost,
- Building a strong connection to one's own faith so that it may serve as both a guide and anchor,
- Recognizing the strength and importance of tradition, and
- Dedicating one's self to professionalism and ethics in the practice of law and the pursuit of what is right and just, regardless of the consequences.
Recipients of the Reich Chandler Outstanding Advocate Award are those who exemplify all four of these characteristics, embodied by Reich Chandler during his life and legal career.
It was an honor for Mr. Horowitz to receive this award for 2012. As a member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and past chair of the Advocates Board, Daniel has dedicated his time and efforts to pursuing justice for those who have been injured and fighting to maintain their right to full and fair recovery through legislative advocacy.
Attorney Daniel Horowitz has been named a Super Lawyers Rising Star as published in Texas Monthly magazine since 2008 and is board-certified in personal injury trial law by The Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has been listed in the Top 40 Under 40 Trial Lawyers from Texas by The National Trial Lawyers Association and has been named a Top Lawyer for the People in H Magazine. He is a graduate of the University of Texas McCombs School of Business with Silver Spur honors and South Texas College of Law.
Established in 1951, Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Friend (www.abrahamwatkins.com) has fought for the rights of Texans who have been seriously injured in a car accident or truck wreck, by a dangerous or defective product, while on the job, due to medical malpractice or any other personal injury accident. The firm has helped thousands of injured clients and grieving families seek justice through the legal system after the negligence of another has permanently and unexpectedly changed their lives.
The Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA) was founded in 1949 with a mission to protect the rights of Texas families and promote excellence in trial advocacy and the legal profession. As large companies fight for legal protections that would insulate them from accountability for injuries caused by their negligence, the TTLA fights to maintain the rights of those who are injured or have lost a loved one to hold these companies responsible.
