ANCHORAGE, AK, December 19, 2012 (Press-News.org) The FSBO System Foundation, founded in 1999, was set up so that clients who had saved money using the FSBO (For Sale by Owner) System could contribute a portion of their savings to charity. In lieu of the recent damage caused to the eastern seaboard of the United States, the Foundation has decided to donate a portion of these contributions towards assisting the victims of Super Storm Sandy.
The brainchild of FSBO System creator Kirk Wickersham, the FSBO System Foundation was a response to a myriad of Wickersham's satisfied clients asking what they could do to repay him. Many of these clients had saved upwards of $40,000 to $50,000 using Wickersham's very own do-it-yourself home selling model, and desired to give a portion of their savings to a charitable cause. The FSBO System Foundation provided them with an opportunity to do just that.
To date, the FSBO System Foundation has donated money to religion and politics neutral organizations such as Habitat for Humanity. Its recent contributions to the victims of Sandy are not the first time the foundation has offered monetary aid to natural disaster sufferers. Just a few years back it donated a substantial sum to those ravaged by Hurricane Katrina and the Indonesian tsunami.
In order to set a favorable example, the employees of FSBO System have also contributed to the Foundation. The Foundation itself is a tax-exempt charitable organization, and all contributions are tax deductible to the donor. Expenses are paid by FSBO System, which means that the charity will receive the entire amount donated. This is good news for Sandy victims, as many of them have been left without food and shelter for several weeks. The total amount of damage done by the storm is up to a staggering 63 billion dollars and counting.
A user of the FSBO System went on record stating, "I managed to save over 20 grand by spending a couple of hours learning the FSBO System. That money went towards a down payment on my new home. The least I could do is help out my fellow Americans."
Kirk Wickersham is a Yale-education attorney and real estate broken with over 42 years of civic and professional experience. He founded the FSBO System in 1995. Last Friday he was elected as Vice Chair of the University of Alaska Board of regents and on Monday December 10th he was appointed to the Investment Committee of the University of Alaska Foundation. The program was placed online in 2012. Its website can be found at http://fsbosystem.com/.
