FreightCenter Announces Award for its Supply Chain Technology

Food Logistics Releases 2012 List of Top Food and Beverage Software Solutions

2012-12-20
TRINITY, FL, December 20, 2012 (Press-News.org) FreightCenter is recognized in Food Logistics magazine for developing software that optimizes and manages transportation operations for food and beverage supply chains. Named to a list of 100 software and technology providers, FreightCenter specializes in technology that allows manufacturers, distributors and retailers to consolidate, track, tender and audit inbound and outbound shipments.

In addition to its all-inclusive less-than-truckload and full truckload freight services, FreightCenter develops a Web-based transportation management system (TMS) that provides a centralized method of controlling all aspects of transportation. As fuel costs rise and freight capacity tightens, supply chains are investing in TMS software in order to have a more transparent view of their supply chain practices.

"With the evolution of the food supply chain, software and technology providers are playing a more critical role in addressing needs such as end-to-end visibility and collaboration, traceability, regulatory compliance, risk management, sustainability and cost containment," notes Lara L. Sowinski, editor-in-chief of Food Logistics. "Technology is the competitive differentiator for companies in our industry who need to stay ahead of dynamic changes in the
marketplace."

"We are proud to be chosen as a top performing software provider for the food and beverage industry," said Doug Walls, chief information officer for FreightCenter. "Manufacturers, distributors and retailers are our core customers and helping them meet their business goals is an essential function of our technology."
The Food Logistics list is designed to assist readers in identifying the leading software and technology providers in the industry. FreightCenter and the complete list of companies will be featured in the November/December 2012 issue of Food Logistics, as well as online at http://www.foodlogistics.com.
