Kroger And Duke Heart Center Host Annual "Pretty Party In Red" At The Sheraton Imperial On Feb. 1

RALEIGH, NC, January 25, 2013 (Press-News.org) The Kroger Co. (http://www.kroger.com/), the nation's largest traditional grocery retailer with 14 stores throughout the Triangle and North Carolina, has announced that it will co-host the annual "Pretty Party in Red" with the Duke Heart Center on Friday, Feb. 1 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel, located at 4700 Emperor Blvd. in Durham. An annual celebration, "Pretty Party in Red" is focused on heart health and coincides with the National Wear Red Day, a movement that began in 2003 to raise awareness to the cardiovascular disease that is the No. 1 killer of women. The event kicks off February as American Heart Month, which provides awareness about cardiovascular disease, one of the leading causes of death across the United States that kills more than 600,000 Americans each year.

"Pretty Party in Red" will feature "Prescriptions from the Kitchen" cooking demonstrations from Kroger's Chef Al Panzer and Pharmacist Ouita Gatton beginning at 6 p.m., with a boxed dinner included. The evening will incorporate a variety of heart-health activities, including screenings, massages and Zumba lessons. The event will cost $10 per person and is open to the public.
