CHERKASSY, UKRAINE, January 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) WebKate, an iPhone and web development and design company, has finished a project, developed using an increasingly popular responsive web design technology. The RWD will optimize the website for various devices with different screen resolutions.
"Mobile browsing is getting more and more popular with Internet users today, and we wanted to consider these users when working on this project," said Vladimir Dybenko, Director of WebKate. "Responsive design is what will make the website look fabulous on any device, including mobile phones and tablet PCs."
The website was designed to optimize the user's' viewing experience regardless of the screen resolution. The RWD website uses HTML5 and CSS3 media queries to adjust the page layout, as well as fluid grids and flexible images. With CSS3 media queries, the page uses various CSS style rules for different devices it is viewed on, most often based on the width of the browser. When fluid grids are used, the size of the page elements is not in pixels, but in relative units, such as per cents. Flexible images are sized in relative units as well, which helps to keep them within their containing elements. At the same time, compatibility with older browsers is implemented.
Due to responsive design, the website will automatically conform to different screen sizes. Navigation is also rearranged to make the site more user-friendly. Moreover, the technology allows controlling imagery and adapting it to the size of the screen. This will not only optimize the look and usability of the website on mobile devices, but also increase its load speed, as different amounts of image compression can be applied.
