Virtual University Announces Christian Studies Course

Instructor Brian Neese calls upon his theology training to decipher the nature and essence of Jesus Christ.

2010-10-20
SANTA BARBARA, CA, October 20, 2010 (Press-News.org) Students of Christian theology desiring to learn about the true nature of Jesus Christ can gain fascinating insights through an online course on Christology being offered by Virtual University. The course is written and instructed by Brian Neese, who is pursuing a Masters degree in Theology.

"Christology is the fundamental essence of Christianity," Neese explains. "It examines the basic questions that every Christian has wondered about and must explore. Why did Christ come for us? How does Christ relate to God?"

In his course, Neese examines early church doctrines such as the Nicene Creed by the Council of Nicaea and the works of eminent theologians St. Augustine and Thomas Aquinas that explore timeless questions many Christians struggle with today, like why God should present to us in human form.

"Christology is an area that you know about in your faith but one that many Christians don't get a chance to study in-depth," Neese explained. "I wrote this course to introduce some important building blocks to the study of Christianity, regardless of where you are in your walk with Christ, or your search."

"Teaching," Neese adds, "is described in Christianity as a 'spiritual gift,' along with ministry. The Bible tells us to 'teach and admonish one another in all wisdom' (Colossians 3:16)."

"I want to teach about God every day of my life," declared Neese, who is now writing a second course on Christian Love. The new course will be offered at Virtual University this winter. Neese also plans to teach a children's ministry at his church in the near future.

The Christology course is affordably priced at $20, and students have up to three months to complete the curriculum. The class is offered through an e-learning platform developed by Virtual University that allows students to interact with instructors but also permits students to learn at their own pace and study from the comfort of home.

Brian Neese received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from American Public University. He is pursuing a Masters degree in Theology from the University of Wales at Lampeter. He worked as a preschool teacher for five years, and his love of teaching has grown since that time.

Neese confesses to being an avid sports fan and writes about professional sports for several Web-based publications. He lives in Rockford, Illinois, where he follows his passion for teaching about God and being a lifelong student of the Written Word.
