RALEGIH, NC, January 30, 2013 (Press-News.org) Grace Kvantas, Financial Symmetry's Operations Specialist, has completed the first course in a series of 7 towards becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER .
Grace completed the financial planning process course and is currently taking the second course on insurance planning and risk management. Not only is she taking courses to fulfill the education requirement, but she is also working towards her 3 years of full-time work experience.
Once Grace has completed all 7 courses and has obtained 3 years of full-time work experience she will be able to complete the Ethics portion of the certificate by agreeing to adhere to the CFP Board's Standards of Professional Conduct and Code of Ethics.
To receive the CFP certification, she must complete the four E's:
Education - a bachelor's degree or its equivalent is required to obtain an initial CFP certification. Must complete the CFP Board Registered Programs or have an academic degree or credentials approved by the board.
Examination - once they have completed all courses required by the board they will take a 10 hour multiple choice exam that tests their knowledge of financial planning and how well they can apply it to real-life financial situations.
Experience - must have 3 years of qualifying experience or 2 years of Apprenticeship experience that meets additional requirements.
Ethics - must take the fitness standards for candidates and registrants and undergo a background check in order to ensure there has been no unacceptable conduct in previous years that would affect their career as a CFP .
