RALEIGH, NC, January 31, 2013 (Press-News.org) For the third consecutive year, The Preiss Company has been recognized by Student Housing Business magazine as one of the nation's Top 25 Owners of Student Housing. The Raleigh real estate company appears in the publication's November/December 2012 issue and was ranked 9th based on number of beds owned. The Preiss Company currently owns 10,667 beds in nine states and thirteen markets.
In the fall of 2012, Student Housing Business conducted its annual ranking of the industry's Top 25 Owners of Student Housing and used the number of beds owned as the ranking's benchmark to determine the largest owners. To maintain the integrity of having a "true" owners survey, the private equity side of joint venture partnerships were provided a separate survey to complete and have been giving their own listing in the publication.
Founded in 1987, The Preiss Company specializes in the development, acquisition, and management of off-campus student housing. The company has had nearly $130 million in acquisition and development in the past 12 months and has experienced 30% growth in the past two years. The company is poised to do the same or better in 2013.
Company founder and Chief Executive Officer, Donna Preiss, is proud of her repeated inclusion in Student Housing Business' recent list and says that The Preiss Company continues to redefine the student housing market by setting the "gold" standard of off-campus housing.
"The Preiss Company continues to lead the industry in the development of new technologies, tools, and strategies for the student housing industry," says Preiss. "We've recently added mobile versions of our property websites and all of our websites can now be translated into any language with the click of a button."
Preiss says that students are now demanding higher bandwidth, wireless access, and total reliability and that these expectations are playing a big part in the leasing decision making process.
"Many of our residents' courses are online and require fast and dependable connectivity," adds Preiss. "We are starting to see high-speed connectivity as the number one amenity that students are looking at when making their leasing decisions. To remain a leader in the industry, The Preiss Company will continue to provide connectivity solutions that not only meet current needs, but can adapt to handle ever increasing demands."
