Philadelphia's Beck's Cajun Cafe Starts Lunchtime Delivery During Super Bowl Sunday

Philadelphia's Beck's Cajun Cafe Brings Tastes of the "Big Easy" to Center City and University City Homes, Offices and Classrooms With Its New Crawdaddy Express Delivery

2013-01-31
PHILADELPHIA, PA, January 31, 2013 (Press-News.org) Three years ago, Chef Bill Beck brought 'Nawlins favorites to Philadelphia with Beck's Cajun Cafe at the Reading Terminal Market. In July last year, he opened a second Cajun eatery at Amtrak's 30th Street Station. Starting on February 3, Super Bowl Sunday, Beck's will have a new option for those craving the hearty, spicy flavors of southern Louisiana and the Gulf - lunchtime delivery!

Diners can enjoy Train Wrecks, po'boys, jambalaya, muffaletta, bread pudding and more in their homes, offices and classrooms by calling Beck's Cajun at 215-382-2800 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Orders over $25 will be made without a delivery charge.

"Look for the crawdaddy on our delivery vans, scooters and skateboards," said Beck. "Now you can have authentic Cajun and Creole brought to you anywhere in Center City and University City."

The start of the delivery service comes as Beck's is preparing for Mardi Gras, the fourth that Beck's has celebrated since its opening. To celebrate Fat Tuesday, the restaurant is offering its original recipe King Cakes, a traditional Mardi Gras dessert made famous in New Orleans.

The baking of a King Cake is a tradition associated with Epiphany during the Christmas season and during the pre-Lenten celebrations of Mardi Gras and Carnival. The cake is a ring of braided and filled bread similar to brioche, topped icing or sugar colored purple, green and gold, representing justice, faith and power.

The cakes cost $34.95 for a whole cake or $3.25 for individual portion and can be ordered by calling 215-592-0505 or emailing kingcakes@beckscajuncafe.com. They will be available for pick up at either the Reading Terminal Market or at 30th Street Station from February 1 to 17.

With locations at 30th Street Station and The Reading Terminal Market, Beck's Cajun Cafe is known for its exotic, flavorful and spicy Creole cuisine with ingredients shipped direct from the Big Easy. Beck's also offers delivery in Center City and University City, as well as a line of Kitchen Pantry spices and sauces including Beck's Three Devil Hot sauce, Creole Mayo, BBO onion relish and Angel, Devil and Rub-a-Dub spice rubs. A Best of Philly 2011 winner, Chef Bill Beck's distinguished career began 25 years ago in his hometown of Philadelphia. He has won acclaim for his deft hand and has twice been showcased at Manhattan's James Beard House. For more information about Beck's Cajun Cafe, visit: http://www.beckscajuncafe.com.
