HOLLYWOOD, FL, February 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) Lori Jo Churchyard, Regulatory Counsel at FDA/CBER and Private Practice Attorney, has been selected as an Executive of the Year Member of the Covington Who's Who Executive and Professional Registry. The selection recognizes Lori Jo Churchyard's commitment to excellence in Government, Regulations, and Information Technology.

For over twenty-six years, Lori Jo Churchyard has worked in the government, first in information technology and then as a regulatory counsel. For twelve of her twenty-four years in information technology, she has focused part of her job duties working with computer security.

Yearning for more, Churchyard decided to return to school in 2007 to pursue her law degree. She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2009. She has worked for the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research since March 2009. She started a private practice as an attorney in 2011.

"My numerous years of work experience in different fields have allowed me to bring a different perspective to helping clients," Churchyard said about her two very rewarding careers.

As regulatory counsel, Churchyard's responsibilities are vast. She oversees aspects of policies, procedures, and initiatives, leverages research and in-depth analysis to develop regulatory policies for the biological industry, plus a host of other day to day routines. As a solo attorney for her private practice, she champions the defense of clients in civil litigation, breach-of-contract, personal injury, and other areas of law as a general practitioner.

Churchyard is involved in numerous organizations, including memberships with various Bars. She has also been a part of several mentoring programs with different legal groups, such as the Maryland Association for Justice and Kids in Need of Defense, to name a few.
