Gardere Partner Celeste Yeager Discusses Hiring Compliance at National HR in Hospitality Conference

Celeste Yeager, Vice Chair of the Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP Hospitality Industry Team, will discuss hiring compliance issues March 12 at the 7th Annual National HR in Hospitality Conference & Expo.

2013-02-02
DALLAS, TX, February 02, 2013 (Press-News.org) Employment and immigration lawyer Celeste R. Yeager, Vice Chair of the Hospitality Industry Team at Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP, is slated to discuss hiring compliance issues at the 7th Annual National HR in Hospitality Conference & Expo scheduled for March 11-13 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

The annual conference is produced by Human Resource Executive magazine and LRP Publications in partnership with Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, Center for Hospitality Research and ILR School.

Ms. Yeager will participate in the "The Hard Part of Recruitment Isn't the Search: Compliance in Hiring" session on March 12. The discussion will explore realities of the hiring process while navigating compliance requirements, including I-9 compliance, work visas, drug testing, keeping assessments meaningful, and how to get the most from background checks.

"Many companies already face difficulties in locating the right candidates for their job openings, but they are finding those decisions to be increasingly baffling as a result of a host of new laws and EEOC guidance on matters impacting the hiring process," says Ms. Yeager. "The goal of this session is to give attendees an understanding of these matters so they know their hiring process complies with all applicable nationwide laws and regulations."

The National HR in Hospitality Conference & Expo is the only conference for senior-level human resource professionals in the hospitality industry. Topics will include a range of issues facing HR hospitality professionals, including reducing employee health care costs in light of the Affordable Care Act; changes in HR technology; new regulations and interpretations impacting hiring practices; and changes in sexual harassment case law. The conference provides an interactive and engaging opportunity for HR professionals to obtain legal guidance from respected hospitality law attorneys and leading industry experts. In addition to the conference sessions, the event includes a two-day Expo, the 4th Annual Cornell University Executive Summit, several breakout sessions, and networking opportunities.

The complete conference agenda can be found at http://www.HRinHospitality.com/agenda.html. To register for the conference, please visit http://www.HRinHospitality.com or call toll-free 1-800-727-1227.

Ms. Yeager presented "Effectively Responding to Union Organizing and Influence" at the 2012 National HR in Hospitality Conference & Expo. In addition to her leadership role with Gardere's Hospitality Industry Team, Ms. Yeager chairs the Firm's Immigration and Naturalization Practice and is a partner in the Labor and Employment Practice Group.
