CAI Announces February 2013 Training Seminars And Development Programs In Greensboro

Local HR Management Firm Offers Comprehensive Training Courses For Triad Business Professionals

GREENSBORO, NC, February 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) Bruce Clarke, president and CEO of CAI (http://www.capital.org), a human resource management firm that helps organizations maximize employee engagement while minimizing employer liability, announced the company's February 2013 schedule of training and development seminars. All courses will be held at CAI's Greensboro location at 7817 National Service Road, Suite 509 unless otherwise noted.

-"Team Leader Certification Program" is a two-day, interactive program that will help prepare team leaders to perform at higher levels. Through group discussions, exercise, role-plays and action planning, attendees will develop the necessary skills to succeed and will gain a better understanding of how to apply these skills to specific workplace situations. At the end of the course, attendees will be equipped to apply strategies to effectively influence others; communicate efficiently and appropriately with subordinates, peers and superiors; deliver clear messages and requests for action; manage difficult employee behaviors; identify actions to better motivate team members; and apply a process to improve employee productivity. -"Healthcare Reform Updates: What's in Store for 2013 and Beyond" is an interactive program for CAI members only. During the program, participants will be equipped with a better understanding of how to plan for and meet the requirements of future healthcare reform provisions, particularly those that could cause compliance challenges for group health plans. Presentations will be led by Joy Binkley and Lindsey Surratt from Hill, Chesson & Woody Employee Benefit Services. The program will take place on Thursday, Feb. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. -"Ask the Expert - Keepin' It Legal: How to Ensure That Your Wellness Program Won't Make You Sick" is an interactive program for CAI members only. Led by Robin Shea, attorney of Constangy, Brooks & Smith, LLC, the program is the second installment of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) program she began in 2012. During the program, participants will learn how the ADA, the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act privacy rule impact company wellness programs and how to ensure company wellness program success. -"Advanced FMLA: The New Regulations and Other Leaves of Absence" is a half-day course designed to go beyond the basics of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and explore the potential mistakes commonly confronting employers. At the conclusion of the course, participants will be able to understand the intricacies of the FMLA, develop practical solutions to compliance issues and mistakes, and bring extended multi-issue leaves of absence to a conclusion. -"Fundamentals Of Supervision Certification Program" is a two-day program designed to help first-time supervisors and managers establish a strong foundation for success. During the course, attendees will learn how to define their roles as supervisors, avoid common pitfalls as new supervisors, delegate tasks, effectively deliver messages to varying communication styles, apply a model to successfully manage conflict and identify strategies to motivate employees. -"Critical Considerations When Performing Background Checks" is a half-day course that will provide participants with an overview of the many laws that apply to conducting background checks as well as the opportunity to discuss what factors need to be considered in order to consistently evaluate job applicants. During the course, participants will learn how to develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, and understand the benefits and risks of conducting, or not conducting, a background check.
