SURREY, ENGLAND, February 04, 2013 (Press-News.org) Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is one of the commonest diseases to afflict the human heart. Although there are various strands of heart disease, CHD is perhaps one of the most deadly forms, claiming thousands of lives in the UK every year. That's why in February the British Heart Foundation will re-launch National Heart Month, an annual awareness campaign allowing the public to get involved helping raise funds to support the charity's life-saving work.
To help promote the campaign, the British Heart Foundation are asking participating offices, schools and community groups to Rock Up In Red on February 1st, undertake a variety of fundraising activities - dressed in red - and help spread awareness of heart diseases right across the UK. Even The Saturdays singer, Mollie King, is getting involved, asking people to donate just GBP2 to the cause.
Events can be as weird and as wacky as organisers see fit. So expect plenty of karaoke's, red fashion shows, bake sales, quizzes, tea parties, and many more, from February 1st onwards. Fundraisers can also purchase a special a British Heart Foundation pin - available from all BHF high-street stores - two Valentine's Day bouquets or even a limited edition Radley red pocket bag to help spread awareness.
As well as helping fund the fight against heart disease, through vigorous medical research, one of the main objectives of National Heart Month is to highlight the various financial products available to support those suffering from heart problems. Products such as life insurance and critical illness cover are designed to help loved ones when a policy holder passes away, offering financial assurance and support at a time when they may need it most.
At present many of the UK's biggest insurance firms are able to provide immediate life insurance quotes online.
