PENNSAUKEN, NJ, February 06, 2013 (Press-News.org) In 2012, AFR Furniture Rental partnered with New Orleans based charitable organization, St. Bernard's Project (SBP), to change the lives of two families devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Pitching in to help with SBP's efforts, AFR provided funding for building supplies as well as an onsite team to help finish and furnish the two houses and celebrated with the families as they returned home to stay for the first time since the hurricane almost eight years ago.
In 2013, AFR will return to NOLA and again partner with SBP to lend a helping hand. AFR Furniture Rental has committed $20,000 dollars for the purchase of materials to rebuild another hurricane ravaged home. The "AFR Gives Back" team will also return to be on site to assist with finishing touches and furnish the new home with living, dining and bedroom sets, televisions, household items and more.
"We aren't here just to be in business. We are actively involved in the communities where we live and work. We firmly believe that giving back to our neighbors, friends and fellow human beings is the right thing to do. When we see a need, we proactively get involved. We believe in paying it forward," says Tricia Schmitt, Vice President Brand Management, AFR Furniture Rental.
Giving back and partnering in worthy causes is AFR's way of showing support to clients and its communities through educational opportunities, philanthropy and paying kindness forward.
St. Bernard's Project (SBP) is a rebuilding, nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that disaster-impacted communities recover in a prompt, efficient, and predictable way. To date, along with the help of more than 41,000 volunteers, SBP has rebuilt more than 445 homes in the New Orleans area. Find out more at http://www.stbernardproject.org
