MSA Security (MSA), an industry leader in high consequence threat protection and specialized training dedicated to helping schools enhance their security measures, is hosting a free symposium to help school officials better understand and address the active shooter threat impacting the nation's schools. The symposium will take place on February 22, 2012 in Ballroom A of the New Jersey Institute of Technology from 8.30 AM - 2:00 PM. School officials can earn professional development credits from most states by attending the MSA active shooter symposium on Feb. 22 at the NJIT.
Connecticut State Police Lieutenant and Stratford, Conn. Emergency Management Director Anthony J. Schirillo, whose personnel were among the first-responders to Sandy Hook Elementary School during the tragic mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., will speak about his personal experience managing these highly unpredictable events in a keynote speech. In addition to Lt. Schirillo's keynote address and security sessions led by MSA's active shooter threat experts, Dr. Michael Chumer, Emergency Management and Homeland Security subject matter expert, and renowned Security Consultant Patrick Fiel will also discuss trends in school safety raised by the increase in active shooter incidents across the U.S.
