GARDEN GROVE, CA, February 12, 2013 (Press-News.org) The Anniversary II Art Contest & Exhibit was an open theme, and artists from around the world were invited to enter. This exhibit is comprised of many deserving works in a range of mediums and styles.
Best in show was awarded to Steve Wilda for his masterful acrylic painting, which puts a contemporary twist on still life paintings that evoke the Dutch master's and adds the theme of decay.
2nd place went to Tai Taealii, whose fascinating piece is made of a variety of materials (ballpoint pen, spraypaint, stencils and marker inks) and references an equally wide range of themes: surrealism, consumerism, graffiti, art history, and history at large.
Justine Serebrin was awarded 3rd Place for her beautiful and poetic abstraction titled, "When Birds Bloom."
MyArtContest.com had the honor of selecting 20 additional artists to feature on 2 page features in Artist Portfolio Magazine; however, there were so many great entries to choose from that we're thinking we'll surprise our readers and artists with some additional full page features and half page features, so stay tuned for the Anniversary II Issue of Artist Portfolio Magazine.
