NEW BERN, NC, February 14, 2013 (Press-News.org) Fairfield Harbour (http://www.fhpoa.com), a residential boating and golf community located 15 minutes from historic New Bern, has announced that Mystre' Van Horn, community manager, has been named one of the top 10 on-site community managers in the United States by The Council of Community Association Professionals (CCAP). Van Horn is one of two community managers in North Carolina named to the list, and she is now in the running for being named the 2013 National On-Site Manager of the Year. This announcement follows Van Horn's win as Manager of Distinction by the Community Associations Institute's North Carolina Chapter (CAI-NC).
Entering the third stage of the CCAP's premiere award for community managers, Van Horn will face off against the nation's top community managers for the online voting portion of the contest. The online voting, which will be administered by The Inspectors of Election, will be open to the public on Friday, March 1 and will close on Sunday, March 31. The overall winners will be determined by votes from the public online, the founding sponsors and CCAP, which will act as an independent four-person panel. The top three finalists in each category will be assigned points based on the voting results, with each voting entity weighed equally. The on-site manager finalist and portfolio manager finalist with the most points overall will be determined the contest winners, and both winners will be announced at the 2013 CAI Annual Conference & Exhibition being held Thursday, April 18 to Saturday, April 20 in San Diego.
Additionally, Dan Quartermane, Van Horn's fellow employee of Community Association Services, Inc. (CAS) and portfolio manager for the company, has been named one of the top 10 portfolio managers in the United States by CCAP and is in contention for being named 2013 National Portfolio Manager of the Year.
