ESCONDIDO, CA, February 15, 2013 (Press-News.org) The unique artwork of local artist, Gladys Jimenez, can be viewed at three different art galleries in San Diego for the months of February and March 2013.
Gladys likes to paint representational paintings in oil. Her classic style stands out from the rest. Gladys began painting in 1985, after a summer trip to Europe were she was able to explore the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam, the
Louvre in Paris, and other great art museums in Rome and Florence, Italy.
Upon her return to Los Angeles, Gladys knew she had to paint. She bought art supplies and began to paint. Gladys' first art exhibit was later that year in 1985 at the Barnsdall Municipal Art Gallery in Hollywood, CA, were her first oil painting "Francavilla" based on a house she recalled from a little town in Italy, had a buyer the first day of exhibit!

Escondido Municipal Art Gallery located at 262 E Grand Ave., Escondido, CA 92025, (760) 480-4101, her artwork "Diana" can be viewed.
Escondido Art Association located at 121 W. Grand Ave., Escondido, CA 92025, (760) 489-0338, three more representational pieces of artwork. Two in oils, "Mr. Rooster", "Deer." "Music and Dancing" is created with color pencils.
All artwork is available for sale. 57 Degrees art reception is February 16, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. This event is very popular with art lovers, musicians, and artist.

Gladys also founded a non-profit organization to bring art supplies to public elementary schools that do not currently offer art classes. Gladys believes our children need art classes just a much as other subjects. For those who believe in the arts and helping children create, tax free donations are accepted at http://www.bclf.org.
