Criminal Defense Lawyer Ryan Stump Successfully Completed The White Collar Criminal Defense College at Stetson University
2013-02-20
CHARLOTTE, NC, February 20, 2013 (Press-News.org) North Carolina defense lawyer Ryan Stump of Roberts Law Group, PLLC, attended the recent white collar crimes defense "boot camp" at Stetson University. The event, put on by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and Stetson, is a multi-day conference intended to better equip defense attorneys with the advocacy skills and substantive knowledge to effectively represent individuals charged with financial crimes.

At the white collar crimes college, Mr. Stump received in-depth instruction on:

- Representing any defendant who may be accused of committing financial fraud, from a large corporation to a small business to an individual employee

- Overseeing an investigation by a federal agency such as the FBI or SEC to protect the rights of the individual being investigated and to limit the scope of the investigation

- Advocating before a professional licensing board when an accusation of committing a white collar crime results in an investigation as to whether a license should be suspended, revoked or reinstated after suspension

- Investigating allegations of white collar crimes separate and apart from the government's own investigation to uncover potentially exculpatory material

Mr. Stump has an extensive background in the financial industry, having worked as corporate counsel for a Charlotte-area bank before focusing on criminal defense. He brings this background to his white collar crimes defense practice, using his skill in the courtroom and the firm's history of achieving successful results in difficult cases to advocate for those being investigated for or charged with fraud, embezzlement, tax evasion, money laundering, securities fraud or other financial crime.

From law offices in Tryon Plaza, the attorneys of Roberts Law Group, PLLC, defend those accused of financial crimes in both state and federal court in North Carolina. The firm is conveniently located in the heart of Uptown, the business and professional district of Charlotte.

James Bond might be the first to tell you that a well-shaken martini is a vast improvement over one that has settled and separated. A good mixture depends on understanding exactly how much to agitate a drink, as well as how quickly the ingredients will settle and if there are other mediating factors, such as temperature. If Bond really wanted to understand the science of his spirits, he could follow the examples of researchers who sent fluid mixture experiments to the International Space Station.
