Hospice of Michigan & Saint Mary's Health Care to Discuss Catholic Guidelines for End-of-Life Decisions at Aquinas College

Hospice of Michigan, Saint Mary's Health Care and Aquinas College will host a panel discussion on Catholic Guidelines for End-of-Life Decisions.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI, February 20, 2013 (Press-News.org) Hospice of Michigan, Saint Mary's Health Care and Aquinas College will host a panel discussion on Catholic Guidelines for End-of-Life Decisions.

The discussion will be held from 1 - 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 in the Wege Center's Wege Ballroom at Aquinas College, 1607 Robinson Road in Grand Rapids.

Discussion panelists will include:
Dr. Michael Paletta, chief medical officer and vice president of medical affairs for Hospice of Michigan and the executive director of the Maggie Allesee Center for Quality of Life
Sister Myra Bergman, Saint Mary's Health Care Member of Mercy Health
Very Rev. John Geaney, rector of Cathedral of St. Andrew

The discussion will include case studies, dealing with medical changes in body and mind, commonly believed myths and misinformation and considerations on Catholic doctrine with regard to terminal illness, persistent vegetative state, sacraments and suffering.
