RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, February 21, 2013 (Press-News.org) The Special Event Company (http://www.specialeventco.com), a strategic event and meeting management company, has announced that the firm's CEO, Sally Webb, CSEP, has received high honors from both the special event industry's The Steve Kemble Leadership Foundation and Enterprising Women magazine. These awards are the latest in a history of notable honors for both Webb and The Special Event Company.
The Steve Kemble Leadership Award was presented to Webb during The Masters' Brunch at The Special Event Show, the premier conference for event planning and management professionals, held in Chicago this year. The award is presented annually to the individual who has demonstrated excellence in leadership skills through outstanding service and contributions to the special event and meeting industry. Webb was chosen as the 2013 recipient for her dedication to the highest level of event planning, as well as her involvement in educational opportunities for both budding and current industry professionals.
Also recognizing Webb's depth of industry knowledge and business skills, Enterprising Women magazine honored her with a 2013 Enterprising Women of the Year Award in the "Over $1 million and up to $5 million in annual sales revenue" category. Each year, Enterprising Women, the nation's only women-owned magazine published exclusively for women business owners, presents the highly-regarded awards to top women entrepreneurs from North America and around the globe who embody the spirit of hard work, expertise and dedication to promoting business success for all women. To win the award, Webb showed her leadership of a fast-growth business, mentorship and support of other women involved in entrepreneurship, and outstanding community leadership.
QUOTES:
"Of all the awards, this [Steve Kemble Leadership Award] was the one I was most dumbfounded to receive. Past winners, voted by our industry peers, are such icons in our industry and I am honored and flattered to be included in this gathering," said Webb. "The special event industry has given me such a wonderful career and close friends around the world, and I will continue to strive to raise the standard of professionalism in this billion-dollar industry. To receive this award in total surprise at The Masters' Brunch amongst my friends and peers was even more special."
"It was my tremendous pleasure to recognize the professionalism, creativity and integrity of Sally Webb Berry with this year's Steve Kemble Leadership Award," said Kemble, who presented the award and was the first recipient in 2003. "Sally is in that rare category of luminaries that others use to benchmark their careers. After having observed literally thousands of event professionals, I can honestly say that Sally Webb Berry is at the very top of this modern profession."
