CARLSBAD, CA, February 21, 2013 (Press-News.org) Businessfriend , a professional networking startup based in southern California, has recently launched new features on its site, http://www.businessfriend.com.
After a quiet beta launch in the spring of 2012, the Businessfriend development team released their new BUSI platform, standing for Business Utility Social Identity , to challenge the status quo of professional networking.
"Our jobs, company pages, groups, and events are literally going to change the game," says Freddie Pierce, VP of Product Development. "We're changing the way people post jobs and search for them and it's just the beginning."
People can sign up for the networking site as an individual or on behalf of a company or college. Businessfriend Jobs, a new feature that accompanies the company and college pages, uses algorithms to match job requirements to candidate skills and offers recruiters a compatibility score for each applicant.
"In this economy, Businessfriend Jobs is exactly what employers and job seekers need," says Glen White, entrepreneur and founder of the startup. "There's currently one major option for businesses and professionals and we're looking to offer better alternatives," he says. "There's a demand for more professional-focused networking online and we want to fulfill it."
The registration-based platform combines social networking status and chat abilities with business utilities like email, calendar, and a CRM tool housed in their sliding "drawers". The social business network attempts to balance social media attraction with business networking and productivity tools.
While the company's name speaks to the business focus, Businessfriend also seeks to include all professionally-minded individuals. "We don't cater only or specifically to business," says Rhonda Marable, the Communications Director. "Non-profits and colleges are organizations looking for a better digital footprint and we're making sure everyone has the opportunity to harness the power of social media."
The Businessfriend team will continue to develop new features as feedback and reviews come in. They are currently working on strategic partnerships with companies, schools, and non-profits to increase membership during the year.
