LCR-Meter and Electronics Tester Enters Markets in Over 27 Countries

Siborg Systems Inc.'s Smart Tweezers LCR-meter now available in over 27 countries, gets new websites, including a blog, a new calibration facility and begins development on a new model.

WATERLOO, ON, CANADA, February 23, 2013

Smart Tweezers LCR-meter and electronics tester from Siborg Systems has become a leading tool in testing and troubleshooting surface mount technology. Easily used with just one hand, the device has revolutionized LCR-meters, and is now available in over 27 countries on 5 continents. Following the worldwide growth, Siborg Systems has launched new websites each catering to users in specific regions, as well as the Smart Tweezers Blog featuring all the latest news. A calibration facility established in Poland with help from Bokar International and Production Solutions offers European customers easier access to proper calibration. Development on a new model of Smart Tweezers has begun with help from the Russian Academy of Sciences.

A highly accurate LCR-meter, a small display and a set of precision tweezer tips integrated into a handheld device make testing, troubleshooting, debugging and repairing PCBs easier and more manageable. Without any setup, Smart Tweezers instantly identifies and measures Inductance, Resistance and Capacitance in all types of passive and through-hole devices. Automatic LCR and Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) measurements, diode and continuity tests, adjustable test signals, component sorting with variable tolerances, offset subtraction are just a few of the features available on Smart Tweezers. The device is used by many major high tech companies worldwide, and after nearly 10 years on the market, has gained the reputation of a highly accurate professional grade tool suited for on-board impedance testing, component sorting and PCB debugging.

The new distributors that Siborg Systems has gained all agree that Smart Tweezers is a perfect fit among the rest of their high quality electronic components, tools and consumables.

"In all electronic production lines, Smart Tweezers LCR-meter comes in handy perfectly complementing powerful but sometimes hard to use bench-type electronic test equipment. Smart Tweezers LCR-meter is an extremely useful tool, allowing to verify results of optical inspection," -Jason Yeh , Sales Manager at GoldTek Co. Ltd. [http://www.goldtek.com.cn]

"By the nature of our business we are in direct contact with many Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturers and designers of new electronic products. They all value Smart Tweezers, the ultimate LCR-meter for Surface Mount Technology (SMT). Light-weight, ease-of-use and accuracy make Smart Tweezers an indispensable tool for PCB debugging and testing as well as component characterization." -Yoshitaka Sato , the Director at Van Device Ltd. [http://www.vandevice.co.jp]

The new distributors include; Bokar International (USA), Production Solutions (Poland), SIBBIS International (USA), KT International (Indonesia), Dipaul (Russia), Advance Tech Services (India), CF System Technology (Malaysia), Newly-Tsuchiyama (Japan), GoldTek (China), PrinTec (Netherlands), and Van Device (Japan). With help from these distributors, Smart Tweezers now reaches far ends of the globe, offering the device in many electronic manufacturing hubs.

With so many new customers, Siborg launched multiple websites for users, based on the regions they reside in (Canada [http://www.smarttweezers.ca], India [http://www.smarttweezers.in], USA [http://www.smarttweezers.us], China [http://www.smarttweezers.tw], etc.). These websites feature a video introduction, user tips and tricks. The new Smart Tweezers Blog [http://www.smarttweezers.us/blog] features all the latest news about Smart Tweezers.

One issue about expanding into markets was that customers in Central Europe had little access to calibrating their devices in order to stay ISO compliant. There were currently only 3 facilities worldwide, in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, in Pasadena, California, and New Delhi, India. THis meant that these customers had to ship their devices abroad for calibration, which could be a costly and timely procedure, many resorted to a third party "calibration". The third party method does not actually change coefficients within the device, but rather just compare measurement values with the true values of "standard components". This may prove Smart Tweezers accuracy, but not that the device is working at optimal performance. Placement of the facility was essential for customer access. Siborg Systems and Bokar International enlisted Production Solutions in Poland to house the facility, offering a central location to European customers.

A developmental deal with the Institute of Electrometry and Automation at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk, Russia. This new model will feature a lower manufacturing cost, but will still be the dependable tool that Smart Tweezers has earned the reputation of.

Siborg was established in February 1994. The main objective of the company is the development and production of different kinds of scientific software. We have more than 25 years of experience in computational physics and more than 17 years in semiconductor device modeling.

In the last few years we have sold copies of the software package MicroTec to more than 17 companies and 75 universities in 25 countries, including Hitachi, General Electric, NTT, University of California at Berkeley and Waseda University in Tokyo.

We have also developed SibLin: a 3D solver for Poisson/Diffusion/Heat Transfer Equation. SibLin has been licensed to Spectrian (Santa Clara, California), Northern Telecom (Ottawa) and Waterloo Hydrogeologic Inc.

We continue our work on ReSCu: Resident Scientific Calculator for IBM PC. This is one of the most easy-to-use and compact software of its kind.

We also develop custom designed software tools!
