MaxMetrics Launches Agile Book Aligned to the "Project Management Body of Knowlege Guide--Fifth Edition"
"Going Agile Project Management Practices" is designed as a valuable guide for a transition to agile practices and a desk reference for applying agile techniques to a project.
ATLANTA, GA, February 28, 2013
MaxMetrics released the book "Going Agile Project Management Practices" by Gloria J. Miller in paperback, epub, and Kindle formats. The book takes the view that every project should apply agile and risk management practices to deliver value and adapt to changing environments."Going Agile Project Management Practices" is not specific to any one agile methodology. It is designed to introduce different agile themes and practices and to act as a reference for where to find further details. The book is divided into four sections: A definition of agility, its benefits, and practices; a description of the agile practices as aligned with the Project Management Institute Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK ) Guide—Fifth Edition; an overview of the considerations for selecting and implementing an agile methodology; and a reference guide of selected methodologies, terms, and people.
According to Irene Michlin, who contributed her personal experiences to the book, "This book approaches agile transition as a matter of fact, mainstream organizational change. Agile has arrived, now what do your managers, project managers, financial people etc. need to know about it?"
In addition to the book, MaxMetrics offers agility services.
• The "5x5 Agility Assessment" is a 5-theme and 5-topic review of ways to add agility or de-risk projects, and the "Business Case Assessment" evaluates the business case for the 11 most important points for decision makers. The services are provided under a non-disclosure agreement.
• "Going Agile- Making IT and BI Projects Agile" is a three-hour workshop to introduce the agile manifesto, agile Business Intelligence (BI), agile practices, and the considerations for going agile. The next workshop is in Heidelberg, Germany on March 22, 2013.
On February 28, 2013, MaxMetrics will hold the "Going Agile Project Management Practices" book launch at their office in Heidelberg.
