BOULDER, CO, March 01, 2013 (Press-News.org) The University of Colorado Boulder's Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the Leeds School of Business has appointed John Metzger to its Advisory Board. The founder of one of the nation's first high-tech public relations firms, Metzger was an early advocate and facilitator of Boulder's now national reputation as a center for startups and entrepreneurial development.
"We've come a long way in positioning Boulder on the cutting edge of entrepreneurship, and the University of Colorado's Deming Center represents today's state of the art in entrepreneurial education," said Metzger. "I'm honored to serve on this board with the most involved and influential members of our community."
As part of the Leeds School of Business, the Deming Center Advisory Board is a group of nearly 100 business leaders who are committed to entrepreneurial education and serve to provide mentoring and networking opportunities to students, as well as financial support to the Center.
"In the future, business schools won't be ranked by how many graduates land jobs at Fortune 500 companies, but on how many new businesses get started and new products are invented by graduates," said Metzger. "Under the leadership of Deming Executive Director Paul Jerde and Leeds School Dean David Ikenberry, CU-Boulder is helping to move the entire business education world in this direction."
