Gemini Resources, Marybelle and Sebastion Paul Musco Present CHOC Follies XVI, "VIVA CHOC VEGAS, Guys, Gals & Romance in the Land of Lady Luck"

100 business & civic leaders perform to bring the glitz, glamour & magic of Las Vegas to benefit CHOC Children's

2013-03-08
COSTA MESA, CA, March 08, 2013 (Press-News.org) CHOC Follies, Orange County's annual original musical comedy production that raises funds for CHOC Children's, and presenting sponsors Gemini Resources, Marybelle and Sebastian Paul Musco are pleased to announce the debut of CHOC Follies XVI, "VIVA CHOC VEGAS, Guys, Gals & Romance in the Land of Lady Luck." This year, three evening performances and a Saturday matinee will be held at the Robert B. Moore Theatre in Costa Mesa, Calif., from Thursday, March 28 through Saturday, March 30.

"VIVA CHOC VEGAS, Guys, Gals & Romance in the Land of Lady Luck" is a unique and contemporary twist on "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Guys and Dolls." The show features a delicious mix of Broadway favorites and contemporary chart toppers performed by 100 of Orange County's business and civic leaders that is guaranteed to delight the entire family.

The CHOC Follies has earned a reputation as one of Orange County's most original and successful charity events, netting nearly $6 million to date for CHOC Children's. It has achieved this success thanks to: Founder and Executive Producer Gloria Zigner, who in September was the recipient of the Helena Modjeska Cultural Legacy Award for Community Visionary for her work with the CHOC Follies; Associate Producer Lois Augustine; Director John Vaughan; Music Director Douglas Austin Shrope; and Choreographer Lee Martino, who comprise the successful production team that has led the Follies for all 16 years.

"I am so blessed to have this incredibly talented team that has been here since the very beginning," said Zigner. "Year after year, they come up with original, hilarious productions that have inspired business and civic leaders to perform, and enthusiastic audiences to pack the houses, all to raise money for CHOC. I couldn't be more proud of, and more grateful for these amazing people and our wonderful and caring community. I am also extremely appreciative of the generosity of our Presenting Sponsors Marybelle and Paul Musco, who have consistently supported the Follies over the years."

Co-chairs for the event are Sandy Segerstrom Daniels, Dale Skiles and SueAnn Cross.

This year, proceeds of the CHOC Follies will support the construction and operations of Seacrest Studios, an interactive broadcast multimedia center that provides patients with an outlet to engage in creative activities related to radio, TV and new media. Located on the second floor of the new Bill Holmes Tower, Seacrest Studios will contribute to the healing process for patients and their families by bringing an uplifting spirit to the hospital environment.

Performances of "VIVA CHOC VEGAS, Guys Gals & Romance in the Land of Lady Luck" will be held at the Robert B. Moore Theatre at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, on Thursday, March 28 at 8 p.m., Friday, March 29 at 8 p.m., and on Saturday, March 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Tickets for performances on Thursday night and Saturday's matinee are $65 and $35. For Friday and Saturday nights, tickets are $125 (includes after-show cast party), $75 and $50. All seats are reserved, and group sales tickets are available.
