Lehi Dentist Offers Cerec Technology

Dr. David Gordon, dentist in Lehi, Utah is excited to offer CEREC technology for his patients.

2013-03-09
LEHI, UT, March 09, 2013 (Press-News.org) Dr. David Gordon, Lehi cosmetic dentist, is proud to offer CEREC technology to his patients for one-visit dentistry. This technology allows patients to have a number of cosmetic procedures done in one visit, without having to wait weeks for custom made restoration materials such as crowns and fillings.

"I am happy that we can offer this time saving technology to our patients. We always strive for patient satisfaction and this aligns with our values. I hope our patients enjoy the fact that procedures that usually take multiple dentist visits, can now be done on one," said Dr. Gordon, dentist in Lehi, UT.

CEREC is technology that can be used to replace metal fillings as well as restore any tooth that is decayed, weakened or broken in just one dentist visit. CEREC also uses all-ceramic tooth-colored materials so they match the natural teeth.

The dentist will first examine the teeth that need restoration and decide whether the tooth needs a simple filling or a full crown. The dentist then removes decayed or weakened tooth tissue, as they would with any other restorative procedure. With CEREC, instead of using a filling tray to take impressions of the teeth, an optical impression is taken by coating the tooth with a non-toxic powder and then taking a digital picture with a camera. The whole optical impression process takes only a couple of minutes. Once the impression part is complete, the CEREC machine helps the dentist create the restoration of the patient's tooth using 3D software. About 10-20 minutes later, the all-ceramic restoration is finished and ready to be bonded into place.
