POWDER SPRINGS, GA, March 14, 2013 (Press-News.org) A generous donation was given by Mike Brown, President of Hoop Culture, to the second year youth basketball organization, Georgia Fury Team Reebok Exposure Program. On the night of the Georgia Fury's Player Registration Day, Brown walked in the Fury's home gym of McEachern High School in Powder Springs with the world's best ball handler, Pat the Roc, to welcome the new players to the team and give an inspirational "Anything Is Possible" pre-season speech; a speech that mirrors this humble basketball phenom's non-profit organization's name. Today, Brown meets with David Kelly, General Manager of the Georgia Fury over breakfast before he leaves back to his home town of Orlando, Florida, providing shirts for his program of over 100 players. Before the second cup of coffee, the two agree on a 2013 partnership bringing Hoop Culture as the Fury's exclusive clothing sponsor.
This has been a good year for the Georgia Fury. Under the direction of Innovative Mind Group, the Fury has picked up a licensing deal with Reebok, community partnership with the Atlanta Hawks, an angel investor and now, a clothing sponsorship with Hoop Culture. Partnerships like these are made by the third person at the breakfast table, Montye Edwards, a marketing guru and the Director of Operations of The Basketball Expo. "It's a win-win situation," states Edwards. "You have corporations looking for grass root and club sports to invest in and support. Youth sports organizers have a hard time finding, not only the information, but the time to get corporate sponsors. The problem is, they don't know how to connect with each other. The Basketball Expo will show how to monetize these type partnerships for win-win opportunities for both the business and the youth sports club."
The Basketball Expo will bring youth sports industry leaders, high school administrators, and the general basketball community together to enhance youth sports programming. Hosted on April 3-4, 2013 at the Cobb Galleria, it was no accident that this first time Atlanta expo was planned right in front of the NCAA Final Four Tournament, also being hosted in Atlanta. "The Basketball Expo is wrapped with basketball culture," states Edwards. "What better time to bring an expo of this caliber to Atlanta?"
