PHOENIX, AZ, March 15, 2013 (Press-News.org) Arizona Crime Victim Attorney, Law Office of Sara J. Powell will volunteer for the "Walk Like MADD " event to be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013. Sponsored by the Mothers Against Drunk Drivers nonprofit organization and billed as the "Mother of all Walks," the event will be held at the Phoenix Zoo, 455 North Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, Arizona 85008.
"Walk Like MADD" is a non-competitive, 5K walk geared to the entire family. The event will also include activities for kids, teens and parents, as well as live entertainment, a marketplace and demonstrations. An important part of the day will be the tributes to victims and survivors of drunk driving accidents.
The cost to participate in the walk is $20 for adults and $15 for youths. Entry fees include a "Walk Like MADD" shirt. Besides walking in the 5K, interested parties can donate money to participants, walk "virtually," and/or volunteer before, during and after the event. Other ways to get involved include purchasing sponsorship and vendor packages.
"Because drunk driving remains the primary cause of deaths on our highways, we must do everything we can to bring attention to this tragic and urgent issue" said Sara Powell, attorney, Law Office of Sara J. Powell. "The 'Walk Like MADD' event is a fun way to raise money and awareness so we can end this senseless crime. I'm happy to volunteer for such an admirable organization."
MADD began as a powerful movement more than 30 years ago. Since then, tens of thousands of members have added momentum. The "Walk like MADD" event is one example of the organizations countless fundraising efforts to support its mission to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.
