MEMPHIS, TN, March 21, 2013 (Press-News.org) North Texas-based FITCO was proud to learn that one of its prized projects, the Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center, earned "Project of the Year' in the first-ever "Building Memphis" event held by the Memphis Business Journal. The national commercial fitness dealer of high-end equipment and fitness solutions worked closely with Keith Hankins with FITCO's top client, Precor, and FITCO's managing partner in Tennessee Michael Young on the Kroc Center project.
"Keith and Michael made a great team working with us at the Kroc Center," said Rick Ellis, fitness and aquatics manager at The Salvation Army Kroc Center. "For one of the first times in Memphis, people of all ages and fitness levels have access to extremely high-tech equipment that is simple to use. With their expertise and oversight, we were able to design a fitness center that is functional for everyone we serve."
FITCO provided the 110,000 square-foot recreation and fitness center more than 70 cutting-edge pieces of exercise equipment to help the Kroc Center's mission of helping the greater Memphis community, including Precor EFX adjustable crossramps equipped with 15" touchscreens, chest and shoulder presses, seated rows, lateral pulldowns, adjustable Vicore benches for all needs, and the popular TAG tri-grip Ultrathane weight plates of most sizes.
"The Kroc Center is open to anyone and has many amenities for kids of all ages to enjoy," said FITCO Managing Partner Michael Young. "From the Challenge Center and an NBA-sized basketball court, and with all the great equipment we were able to provide from our partner, Precor, this place really is state-of-the-art and should have an open door to the entire community for many years to come."
