Portable Restrooms and Showers Help Shore Towns Reopen for the Season

Mr. John portable toilets have been an ever present sight ever since the devastation of super storm Sandy hit the area in late October. Beaches and private beach clubs are securing protable restroom & shower facilities for the upcoming season.

2013-03-22
KEASBEY, NJ, March 22, 2013 (Press-News.org) Mr. John portable toilets have been an ever present sight ever since the devastation of super storm Sandy hit the area in late October. From disaster response and rebuilding to reopening, portable toilets, sinks and showers have been and will be a necessary component of the recovery process. And now, beaches and private beach clubs are securing portable restroom and shower facilities to meet the demands of the upcoming season.

Even before the storm hit, the Mr. John team was preparing for the worst. Luckily, we were ready and able to help immediately after the storm. Disaster response teams required temporary facilities for their compounds and thousands of people were left without working bathrooms due to storm damage. Mr. John personnel reported for duty, despite the destruction they faced at home. They braved flooding and downed trees and wires to deliver, but deliver they did.

Reconstruction began almost immediately. Mr. John was again called upon to provide portable toilets for construction crews working to repair damaged homes and businesses. Some harder hit communities are still focusing on getting people back in their homes. Mr. John is providing homeowners and construction crews with restroom facilities to help make those jobs easier. Portable toilets for construction sites, hand wash sinks and portable showers for bathroom demolition are being used. Some areas have been using mobile restroom stations since the storm due to damage to their permanent facilities.

Crews continue to work hard to replenish the beaches and rebuild the boardwalk areas, but will be ready to welcome the summer crowds when the warmer weather hits. Municipalities are optimistic about the season and want people to know that the NJ shore will be back and better than ever. Summer rentals are currently filling fast and boardwalk businesses are gearing up for what they hope will be another successful summer.

As businesses are preparing for the busy season, some of the more damaged areas are looking for temporary facilities in order to accommodate the crowds. Many private beach clubs in hard hit areas such as Sea Bright are taking advantage of Mr. John's upscale restroom trailers and mobile shower facilities to serve their customers when they reopen this summer. "These are not your typical porta potties and guests will be pleasantly surprised at the amenities" said Lisa Brown, Account Executive for large special events. "Most customers say 'wow - this is nicer than my bathroom at home!' when they see these units for the first time."

With so many options available for temporary restrooms, showers, and sinks; municipalities and private businesses near the beaches are able to reopen for the summer. Some municipal beach customers are using Mr. John's Maxim portable restrooms which include flushing toilets and sinks with running water. Porta Rain shower stalls are also handy to wash off the sand and salt water and larger crowds can take advantage of the Porta Rain shower trailer with several private shower areas inside. Wheelchair accessible restrooms are available and their larger size makes them very convenient for mothers with small children. Of course, large scale crowds call for larger sized mobile restroom trailers, available in several styles to accommodate either standard or luxury needs.

So, while the media continued to focus on the vast devastation, the amazing and resilient people of New Jersey and New York were busy working. We have picked ourselves up, dusted off, and are now ready to show the world what we have accomplished in such a short period of time. So bring it on; plan a visit this summer and see for yourself - we will be open for business!

Mr. John / Russell Reid is the region's leading provider of portable toilets and other temporary restroom related equipment including single toilet units, restroom trailers, holding tanks, component based fresh water restroom systems, water tanks, sinks and related services. Other available services include jet-vac services, cleaning of sanitary/sewer lines and catch basins, video pipe inspection and more. We service NJ, Metro NY, Long Island, Eastern PA and Northern DE from 7 branch locations
