LOS ANGELES, CA, October 27, 2010 (Press-News.org) Dario Marianelli, who won a composer Oscar for the film "Atonement", is heading to Northern France, circa 1918, to compose the music for the Daniel Radcliffe-starring feature film "All Quiet on the Western Front".
The film, based on Enrique Remarque's World War One novel of the same name, is planning to shoot in the late spring of 2012 once Radcliffe has finished his 2011 stint on Broadway in the show "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying".
The film's writing-producing partnership of Ian Stokell and Lesley Paterson have been huge fans of Marianelli's work over the years, citing such films as his Oscar-nominated "Pride & Prejudice", "V for Vendetta", and "The Brave One".
Said Paterson, "Dario's music brings a profound maturity to every film he has worked on. It is the classic example of how film music can complete a scene by supplying a visceral and emotional depth that visuals, dialog and action alone cannot provide."
Radcliffe will play the lead role of Paul in "All Quiet on the Western Front", a young man desperate for peer and social acceptance who experiences the catastrophic consequences of personal betrayal and misplaced national heroism.
From a script written by producing duo Ian Stokell and Lesley Paterson, the project is being produced through their Sliding Down Rainbows Entertainment production shingle.
