WAKEFIELD, MA, March 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) StarWind Software Inc., an innovative provider of storage virtualization software, announced today that the company was named as a finalist in the Green IT Awards in "Virtualisation Product of the Year" category. In their fourth year, the Green IT Awards showcase and reward technology solutions, companies and organisations that have made a significant contribution to improving the IT industry's environmental performance over the previous 12 months.

StarWind was nominated for its highly available and fault-tolerant shared storage for virtualization environments, StarWind iSCSI SAN & NAS, which has taken its deserved place among the leading virtualization products for its innovative approach, advanced technologies and, of course, for its positive impact on the environment.

Running on the existing hardware, StarWind software extends the life of users' infrastructure and eliminates the typical three to five years of lead-in planning time for hardware purchases.
