FREMONT, CA, March 27, 2013 (Press-News.org) Macrotron Systems, Inc., a Silicon Valley based electronic contract manufacturer, expanded its SMT production with the recent acquisition of a Juki KE-2070M. The KE-2070M will be part of Macrotron's lineup of fast high-speed mounters for small components, which already include six other Juki placement machines for PCB assembly.
The KE-2070M provides an upgrade in component placement speeds up to 23,300 cph, delivering improved and cost-effective assembly of high-volume electronic builds.
Since its first day of operation at Macrotron, the KE-2070M machine has served a number of jobs that primarily require 0201 components. The KE-2070M features high accuracy technology for chip placement, ranging from the ultra-small 01005 (0402 metric) to 33.5mm square components. The six high-speed assembly heads each support six nozzles. Each head is driven by an overhead X-Y dual gantry positioning system with closed-loop independent linear AC motors and magnetic linear encoders. Each nozzle is controlled with independent Z and Theta AC servomotors featuring new encoders that have a resolution of 260,000 pulses per revolution and that contribute to extremely high precision, reliability, and accuracy. Precise control of each nozzle is possible without affecting other nozzles. This helps improve machine uptime as well as time between repairs. The design offers highly efficient operation, resulting in a placement rate of 18,300 components per hour (cph), according to the IPC9850 standard.
