RALEIGH, NC, April 03, 2013 (Press-News.org) The Junior League of Raleigh will host its Women in Leadership Breakfast featuring City of Raleigh Police Chief Cassandra Deck-Brown at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, at the Center for Community Leadership at 711 Hillsborough St.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will give attendees a chance to hear Chief Deck-Brown speak as well as ask her questions about her time as police chief.
The event, organized by the League's Government Relations and Public Affairs (GRAPA) team, seeks to engage members in the political process as well as educate the League's members about policy issues directly affecting JLR.
"We are excited to partner with the City of Raleigh Police Department," said Pat Wilkins, President of the Junior League of Raleigh. "This is a great opportunity for our members and the community to hear first-hand from the new police chief. The League is dedicated to training volunteers, who not only provide a strong boost to local nonprofits but who also engage in our community as educated citizens."
