NEW YORK, NY, April 05, 2013 (Press-News.org) New York City custom suit maker, Alan David Custom, has announced the new purchase of a factory in Long Island City, N.Y., which is now open and producing all of their handmade suits and custom made tuxedos. The 15,000 sq. ft. LIC factory a practical and convenient workshop that perfectly services their Midtown Manhattan showroom in providing a unique level of service to every client and every suit made for them.
Before purchasing the new factory, Alan David Custom suits were made in factory in Canada. While the location served Alan David Custom well for a number of years, the NYC clothier now owns a substantially closer space that offers several distinct advantages to them in doing their custom tailoring. One of these advantages is in their use of basted fittings on each handmade suit. This type of fitting is essentially a temporary stitching technique which allows Alan David Custom to modify the fit as needed for each client. This advantage is something that many clothiers cannot offer their clients due to the time and expense involved in constantly shipping a suit after each custom fitting.
"No tailored suit that we create at Alan David Custom is ever outsourced. Now, everything is made in our New York City facilities," said Alan David Custom owner, Alan Horowitz. "Owning our factory makes it possible for us to better control costs, maintain our competitive prices and to use the finest custom tailoring techniques to ensure the best fit and highest quality suit of clothing for every client we serve."
Having long been known for crafting only the finest hand-tailored suits, Alan David Custom never manufacturers ready-to-wear or made-to-measure suits. The custom clothing process always starts with a unique pattern for each client that is carefully drafted and never copied. "Our new facility in Long Island City helps immeasurably in our primary goal of ensuring that every Alan David Custom suit is made to the highest possible standards," Mr. Horowitz said.
Mr. Horowitz is the current owner of his family's business, which was begun in 1926 with his grandfather, Moe Ginsburg, who was an icon in the NYC retail apparel industry for decades. Mr. Horowitz worked in his grandfather's stores for several years while growing up. After spending some time in the accounting business Alan returned to the family business fulltime in 1992. Alan David Custom has earned a solid reputation for creating only the highest quality men's garments through hand tailored expertise. The newly purchased facility in LIC is strong evidence of their dedication to providing all clients with the best value in hand tailored men's clothing.
