Compressed Gas Association Celebrates First 100 Years with One Of A Kind 3-Dimensional Art

Compressed Gas Association unveils One Of A Kind 3-dimensional art by Lawrence Romorini at their annual meeting. This fascinating lobby art incorporates photos, publications, actual tools of the industry to honor the past and celebrate the present.

2013-04-10
SILVER SPRING, MD, April 10, 2013 (Press-News.org) Compressed Gas Association unveiled this week One Of A Kind 3-dimensional commemorative art created by Lawrence Romorini to highlight their annual meeting and 100th anniversary celebration at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona. This multi-layered art, measuring 38" x 72" x 6", incorporates more than 150 photos, publications, and three-dimensional items to showcase the association's milestones, growth of applications, accomplishments and industries served by CGA members over the past century.

Romorini, who has commemorated in 3-dimensional art the stories of American Chemical Society, American Society of Civil Engineers, Marriott International, Oprah Winfrey and USA Today, among others, designed CGA's 100th anniversary art with a unique custom base bordered by compressed gas cylinders. The 100-year retrospective features photos, publications, and actual memorabilia and components of equipment—from gauges and miniature tank trucks to an actual gas cylinder. Metal cubes aligned at the top feature the symbols for gaseous elements from the Periodic Table.

The new 2013 CGA Handbook is introduced within the art, surrounded by previous editions on either side. A ribbon flows through the retrospective with images of diverse compressed gas applications.

"Our collaboration with CGA's 100th anniversary team and their attention to detail were invaluable in creating this historical retrospective," says Romorini. "The importance of the compressed gas industry to so many facets of business and everyday life was a fascinating revelation. It was a unique challenge transforming this powerful story into an enduring legacy of CGA's first 100 years."

Michael Tiller, CGA President and CEO said, "We are absolutely delighted with the art and how it commemorates our 100 years as The Standard for Safety. It was totally a pleasure working with Lawrence Romorini and his team. We love the piece and will cherish having it as the center of attention in displays and in our offices for the next 100 years."

The art will be on permanent display in the lobby of CGA's headquarters in Chantilly, Virginia.

Lawrence Romorini, founder of One Of A Kind Art Studio, in Silver Spring, Maryland, has gained a national reputation for the three-dimensional retrospective collages he has created for more than 25 years. Romorini's artwork is on display nationwide with many commissions shown on his website: http://www.oneofakindinc.com.
